So in the morning we have a 'Marriage Preperation Course' to go to, which is part of what happens when you marry in our church, so we now know hehe It's 5hrs long, you get coffee and lunch for the very matromonial price of £20 which is compulsory eeek! Anyway, there will be other couples there and we kind of have no idea what the day entails, but I am looking forward to it, we get 5hrs children free adult time which will be nice as that rarely happens!! I'll be back to give details soon x
Today was actually a lot of fun and very, very interesting! We spoke about relationships, about how you work as a couple, about your motivations, roles, responsibilities and who does what in your relationship. I suppose it would maybe be a lot more helpful for people who hadn't been together very long, but we've been together 9yrs, so we are kind of attuned and lazy in respect of each other to some extent?
ReplyDeleteWe did lots of little quiz's, questionnaire type things, where we numbered importance of values and put what qualities our partners had etc and it was both comforting and a little surprising to see we do really know each other well! We do also have very similar shared views on our relationship, our future together, and what marriage actually means to us :)
We also learnt a few things I think, it was a really nice day and it was nice to be a COUPLE to be honest, and have adult conversation with no children, as it's something we rarely do outside our evening's at homw when the kids are in bed.
Thankyou Anne and Nick who ran the day, it was wonderful!
